Screening at the kiosk. Clinical judgment stays with licensed providers.

The kiosk helps shoppers get screened and organized for eyewear. It does not replace an eye exam and it does not make clinical decisions.

On this page Overview

What the kiosk does

The kiosk guides a shopper through a vision screening with an attendant nearby. Where the configured service allows, the result is saved to the shopper’s VZN profile and used for their eyewear order.

What the kiosk is not

A screening is not a comprehensive eye health exam. It does not diagnose, and it is not a substitute for regular eye care. Shoppers with concerns about their eyes or vision should see an eye care professional.

Who is responsible for the prescription

Where a prescription is issued, it follows the rules where the kiosk operates and involves a licensed eye care provider. Licensed professionals and professional entities retain authority for examination, diagnosis, prescribing, referral and the clinical record. VZN and retail operations do not determine clinical decisions.

Availability varies

Which services can be offered, and where, depends on the location and on the laws and professional rules there. Availability is confirmed during planning. Nothing on this website establishes eligibility for a service.

Your information

Shoppers enter their own details on the kiosk. They are handled under the privacy notice for the configured service, which is defined with you before launch. This website collects business inquiries only and never asks for patient, prescription, insurance or clinical information.

How it works

  1. Screening

The shopper completes the screening at the kiosk with an attendant nearby.

  2. Review where required

Any review the configured service requires is completed by a responsible licensed provider.

  3. Rx saved

Where a prescription is issued, it is saved to the shopper’s VZN profile for ordering.

Before you get started

Can an attendant explain what the results mean?

No. Attendants help with the equipment, frames and ordering. They do not interpret results or give clinical advice. Questions about results go to the responsible licensed provider.

Does the pharmacy or store need clinical staff?

Not for the kiosk itself. Any clinical review or service uses its own arrangements with a responsible licensed provider.

Will every location offer the same thing?

No. Services depend on the location and the rules where it operates, and are confirmed for each deployment.
